The Path to Technology That Will Lead the Future in the 21st Century
The SCH Department of Information and Communications Engineering is involved in the education, research, and development of overall ICT ranging from communication systems and component design, network and communication security. The department has an excellent faculty who are experts in core technology and that can respond to diversifying communication services and system technologies, such as LTE and 5G mobile communications, and short-distance communications such as IoT and high-speed Wi-Fi. In addition, they are playing a leading role in information and communication engineering (ICT) technologies such as communication system design, communication circuit component design, computer communication networks, and communication security. With these core technologies, the department aims to nurture talents with both theoretical and practical knowledge that can lead the information society. The curriculum allows all students to choose one specific major during their undergraduate studies and train them to become communications systems and circuit engineers, computer network and information security specialists. As a result, Our graduates are working in various ICT-related fields as university professors, government officials, executives, and researchers at mobile communication, mobile phone, and system circuit design companies.
Technical qualifications in ICT fields vary widely and are an important indicator of practical skills. In some cases, companies may need to hire more than a certain number of certified technicians to run business in a related field. Generally, there are national certifications and private
certifications. If possible, acquiring a government-accredited certification enables qualification easily and that is recognized in the relevant area.
Technical certifications are divided into technician, craftsman, engineer, industrial engineer, and craftsman. The Human Resources
Development Service (http://www.hrdkorea.or.kr/) manages certifications, and specific information can be found on Q-net's "technical qualification" information (some areas are managed by relevant associations).
Among examinations, the exams that fourth-year students or graduates can prepare for are engineer and industrial engineer certifications. Engineering certification requires four-year university graduation or industrial engineer qualification and at least two years of experience, and
fourth-year university students are eligible to take the written test. Students who received two or more university education or two-year college graduates are eligible to take the Industrial Engineering test.
The following is a list of engineer (industrial engineer) certifications
that graduates of the Department of Information and Communication Engineering can prepare.
