The Global Business School is an educational program designed to improve foreign language skills and international business acumen to train business professionals who are able to adapt to the era of globalization.
In today's highly competitive workplace, it isn't easy to adapt to only having excellent foreign language skills or excellent practical skills, and talents with both are needed.
Similar to a dual degree program, Soonchunhyang University's GBS provides a program that simultaneously educates one foreign language and one practical business ability.
The effectiveness of the curriculum will be doubled as Soonchunhyang University has more experience and infrastructure, centering on the International Educational Exchange Center for internationalization-centered education compared to competing universities.
Global Understanding Program: In the first semester, new students take general education courses about the era of globalization. They will also receive education in various foreign languages and cultures.
International Competency Enhancement Program: After completing basic education, students select a foreign language for ongoing study.
They will receive intensive language training, including three hours of reading and three hours of conversation each week until graduation. Classes are divided by proficiency level to improve learning, and individual performance is monitored and guided. Students must achieve a certain score on language certification exams (such as TOEIC, TOEFL, HSK, JLPT) to graduate.
Study Abroad: To improve their ability to adapt to different cultures, all students must participate in the Study Abroad Program. Options include dual degree programs with partner universities, exchange student programs, overseas language training during vacations, and short-term overseas adaptation training.
Business Competency Enhancement Program: In addition to language education, students must major in one of the following fields: Business Administration, Financial Management, International Trade, or Tourism Management.
Practical lectures can help students build practical skills, and a variety of overseas training programs can help them grow into business professionals who can adapt to the globalization era in the future. The program is practical in that it can simultaneously equip students with one foreign language and one business skill. The biggest benefit of the GBS education program is that it can increase the chance of employment by developing competitiveness in the job market by releasing globalized business professionals.
