Department of Medical Education

Today, the importance of medical education has been rising as a way to adopt a variety of medical science technologies and information that are rapidly advancing. Accordingly, the need for a change in medical education has been raised.
The Soonchunhyang University College of Medicine established the department of Medicine Education in 2005 and has developed a SCH unique-medical educational system to nurture medical scholars who fit the founding principle of “love for humanity”.
The principle of organizing and reforming the curriculum of Soonchunhyang University College of Medicine is to "gradually introduce proven and innovative curriculum based on traditional curriculum.” With the principle in mind, the Department of Medical Education constantly assesses the current curriculum and educational results and establishes and applies new plans for development.
Although there are no full-time professors in the department yet, the assessment and planning of the curriculum are mainly done by the Soonchunhyang Medical Education Committee, which consists of major professors at the College of Medicine and adjunct professors in the Medicine Education department.

Department of Medical Humanities

The department encompasses a variety of fields in the humanities related to medicine, such as law, sociology, philosophy, and ethics. It also aims to train physicians with humanitarian and ethical insights that complement biomedical perspectives on diseases.
Students can learn support for the development and application of medical humanities-related curriculum, operation management and monitoring of medical humanities subjects (human love-patient love, etc.), research, and strategic response to the future development direction of medical humanities education.
