Advanced Medical Techniques and Superior Clinical Skills for the "Path of Healing"

Basic Medical Sciences

Anatomy

Medical students can acquire extensive and precise knowledge of the structure of the human body from a systematic and local perspective through the basic knowledge of medicine. In addition, dissecting practices allow students to observe each structure of the human body and its organic relationships, observe the organs and tissues constituting the human body under a microscope, and understand the development process of the human body. In this way, students obtain first-hand knowledge about the structure of the human body.

Physiology

Physiology is the study of fundamental life phenomenon in which students study the functions and mechanisms of all organs in a normal living body and observe them through experiments.

Biochemical

Biochemical lectures explore the interrelationships of structure and function in carbohydrates, substrates, proteins, nucleic acids, enzymes, bio-oxidation, metabolism, molecular genetics, humoral and acid-base equilibrium, immunology, organology, endocrinology, and clinical nutrition at the molecular level, further deepening students’ understanding of the application of clinical medicine and the causes of diseases.

Pathology

Pathology is a study that identifies the cause and development of disease by observing and studying changes in tissues and organs caused by various diseases in the human body. In this course, students can understand the background of disease and lay a foundation for clinical medicine.

Clinical Pharmacology

Pharmacology is the study of researching the relationship between the living body and drugs used to treat, diagnose, and prevent disease. Students will study the physicochemical properties of drugs, the pharmacological action that occurs when the drug is administered to a living body, its mechanism of effect, and the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of the drug. These lectures and practicums provide the opportunity to apply clinical skills.

Microbiology

In the Microbiology lectures and practicums, students will acquire general basic knowledge, including morphological, biochemical, pathogenesis, and immunological characteristics of bacteria that cause diseases in the human body and the rickettsia virus. In particular, the course provides intensive education on pathogenic microorganisms that are problematic in Korea.

Parasitology

Parasitology lectures teach overall knowledge about the types of infectious parasites to the human body, the interrelationship between them and the human body, transmission routes, lesions, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infection.

Regenerative Medicine

The Regenerative Medicine course focuses on tissue engineering research to restore some tissues and organs of the damaged body. Students will research various areas from musculoskeletal tissue regeneration research, blood vessel and kidney tissue regeneration, as well as the development of artificial organs to advanced medical treatment devices.
